January 2026

1. January 16, 2026 - An ExMod exposed moderation problems behind the site, seeMikale’s Post on Moderation
2. January 16, 2026 - Shep did an AMA (see: shep_and_ama_for_january_16_2026)
3. January 17, 2026 - Exmod creates a discord server dedicated to Exmods stories. See The Talking Zone Discord for links and other info.
4. January 18, 2026 - ExMod airs statements on international mod team and other moderation issues. See here Ex-mod statement

9. January 20, 2026 - No mods in site. Redddit and sub seems unaffected. See here January 2026

11. January 20, 2026 - Previously Shadowbanned Accounts are Now Banned

Many allegations towards shep and the moderation environment were made, these include but are not limited to:

1. Shep acting childish and reversing mod decisions.
2. Overall bad tools given to moderation teams
3. Mods couldn't reverse bans and as such tickets were ignored.
4. Mods were overworked with high work hours.
5. Shep's decision to only allow shadowbans likely led to the mods being unable to effectively ban known minors off of the site.
6. Bots in general cannot be deleted, only force privated, so you can see the issue.
7. Volunteers were to be paid in nitro but shep never followed up on the reward.
8. A paid mod on this website reported not receiving her paycheck on the dates they were supposed to be given, and had to remind the Dev's constantly.
9. They were fired shorty after as there was no budget anymore.
10. The devs lied about them quitting.
11. The mods were told about major changes only at the time the users were told about it.
